The Story of Gimmickwear

The Origins of Gimmickwear

While this picture may look incriminating, it is not really.  It's just a metaphor for what may or may not go on at Gimmickwear Studios.

Gimmickwear has a a long and glorious history.  This first idea made manifest in t-shirt form was in 1994 while working at the production company responsible for such cult classics as Kids (the movie) and The Phoids (the indie Rock band).  It was during that time the innocence died and was replaced by a cold and calculated cynicism.

The Origin of GFY Enterprises / Gimmickwear

It was not long after returning to Baltimore from a fine rehab establishment in Austin, TX in late 1999 that a re-birth of sorts occurred.  It was not long before we had our own little print shop producing awesomeness for the masses.

So 12 years and @75,000 t-shirts later, here we are.  Several stints at malls, still a consistent presence at all the best local Festivals and surviving the treachery of the Bush years, Gimmickwear is still here.  Still delivering awesome, timely, topical, sometimes offensive shirts to you, the masses.  Still crushing the competition, still embarrassing no talent hacks like Natty Boh Gear, still writing in a style and cadence of a seasoned politician.  All for you, the people.

Want more, you got it.  Here are some other things/people I think suck.  Not to be redundant but the Natty Boh Gear people really suck.  Sarah Palin is a F-Tard, Glenn Beck, Sean Hannity and Ben Roethlisberger also suck.  James Dobson is someone I think never gets mentioned as a person who sucks.  It's probably the intolerance and hatred he disseminates with Focus on the Family and his political lobbying firm Family Reasearch Council. It's these clowns responsible for the douche bags on the corners with the aborted fetus pictures.

What the Future Holds

Somehow or another, we keep coming up with new ideas that people seem to enjoy and want to purchase.  So I guess that means we will still be doing this stuff for the foreseeable future.

To all of you, from all of us at Gimmickwear - Thank you and Happy shopping!
